What's being said,? If anything, about the sink hole and the effects storm Issac had on it? From what I heard radioactive waste was in it and Issac was on right on target to run over it..

I came over to city-data forum hoping there would be an ongoing discussion of the sinkhole here in the Louisiana forum.

I am also wondering what the locals are saying about the current situation and any new developments.

I'm thinking when something is said, it's going to be to late... I know Issac has really hurt the area but radioactive material will be so much worse than some water..

Apparently the world didn't come to an end as predicted . Not a lot being said about it right now .

It seems like many people down there aren't particularly concerned. Its located in a swampy no man's land that can only be accessed by boat. Not terribly close to any sizable population.

Not worried about the world coming to an end in an instant but a slow painful death, I don't wish on anyone, they had posted some suggested evacuations so it's got to be close enough to people somewhere..

Sinkhole? Is it possible that radioactive ions could have been transferred into the storm system, dumping radioactive rain on the path it followed from then on? Am I radioactive?

They are attempting to set a vent well to release gas pressure beneath the surface while they drill. Work was stopped the other day because of tremors in the area. They are saying it could be months before those nearby who evacuated are allowed to return home.
