My family is relocating to Jefferson Parish, Louisiana and I am trying to find the best area for us to live in. I have one small child and a new born so I am needing a family friendly neighborhood and has to be safe (low crime rate). It would be ideal to have good schools around but private school is not out of the question. Thank you all for your help.

Maybe try looking at Metairie, Harahan, and River Ridge. I don't think they have the best selection of public schools but they do have private schools. Those are all on the Eastbank of Jefferson Parish (as in east of Mississippi River), if your job is on the Westbank you might want to live over there instead. You could also try looking in St. Charles Parish ( areas like Destrahan, Luling, Hahnville) where I think the public schools are better and it is still close to Jefferson Parish.
