Yeah , I remember it . I used to travel around the state for my job and I loved watching the A-10's flying around . On one particular long stretch of highway one came down low at my 12 0clock position and probably put me in his sights . I just flashed my headlights and went about my business .

One of my dad's distant cousins was stationed there a little over 30 years ago, then got transfered to NoVA 2 years later. I remember my dad's second cousin's son about my age and had a great time . Haven't seen him in 30 years though.

The C 130 transports still do touch and go landings every so often out there.

I wonder if Alexandria’s economy recovered from the base’s closure.
