Oh yeah-Florien. It is just south of Many not far from Toledo Bend reservoir. Its on US171. I think Fisher is the next town after Many then Florien or maybe the other way around. You go through it going to Hodges Gardens from the north. Not a very big town. I think there used to be a sawmill or a papermill there. Something to do with timber.

Florien is 9 miles south of Many on Hwy 171. It has a plywood mill that employs alot of the locals. Hwy 171 was once a well traveled hwy going f/ Lake Charles to Shreveport but is not used as much since I49 opened up. Florien is actually a village. Its high school is K-12 and is very good on a state level. Florien is one of 7 high schools in Sabine Parish known for their basketball rivalries.

Passed through it many times . Not much to it . It seemed to be one of those little towns that people moved away from when they could afford it , unless they had strong family ties and inherited some land .

Moving to Florien
We lived in California most our lives, looking forward to retirement In Florien. My father in law has given us a nice 3 bedroom 2 bath right on the lake. I instantly loved it looking through the kitchen widow at the beautiful lake. Everyone seemed so nice, just the environment we're looking for. We we're going to retire in Wynonna Missouri as my mother grew up near there and all my family's from there. Florien was love at first sight.. we will visit twice a year until we retire.. can't wait for the visits to meet new friends..
