Quote:
Washington — A push by U.S. Sen. David Vitter, R-Metairie, to penalize “sanctuary cities” for harboring undocumented immigrants failed in the Senate Tuesday when Democrats closed ranks against it.

The 54-45 vote to end debate on Vitter’s bill was short of the three-fifths majority, or 60 votes, that Senate rules require, and effectively kills the proposal.
Discuss.

I cant stand Vitter! At least he's not as stupid as Jindal who thinks there is even a slight chance he could become the next US President (lol)

Vitter spent and inordinate amount of time and money trying to instill fear tactic's in the minds of many seniors against ACA. But those with selective Amnesia seem to forget so quickly.

Fear tactics...

...just part and parcel for America's (not just Louisiana's) political rhetoric.

Great that the Senate defeated it though.

I'm just glad it didn't go through. Hopefully he stays well away from the governor's mansion so that he can't introduce even more ridiculousness. When will we be voting him out of Congress, again?

Well, Vitter lost and now we have a Democratic governor. I hope this is what you wanted, Louisiana...
