I used to see quite a few people trying to hitch hike on i10 between texas and batonrouge. That last year or so I haven't seen any. I travel every month and never see any. Sometimes I pick up someone to have someone to talk to. The Louisiana police running the unwanted off?

Yes I know its dangerous but im a male and I carry a gun im not worried about someone trying something.

As a matter of fact I saw a few hitchhikers last weekend while I was traveling eastbound from SETX to Louisiana. It was late at night. Out of the corner of my eye, they came into view, and suddenly I was scared they were going to jump in the road. Not sure what the police are doing about this, but it's extremely dangerous! I always thought it's illegal for pedestrians to be walking on the interstate.... unless their vehicle breaks down.

Speaking of this, I encountered a hitchhiker this past Saturday on I-10 heading east bound. I was driving between LC and Iowa.

Sometimes I get real scared when people are on the side of the interstate. You just never know if they are going to jump in front of cars for no reason...
