The question assumes that all areas between downtown Shreveport and the Inner Loop expressway are “bad”. Which is not the case at all…

Look within the areas between Line Ave and Youree Dr. between/around Pierremont Rd. on the south and Olive St on the north. As well, look at “Broadmoor” to the east of Youree Drive. If you are wanting to look further south look at Hyde Park/Brookwood/Southern Hills, the neighborhoods along Bert Kouns Hwy Loop and along Fountainbleau Rd. and down Colquitt Rd.

There was quite a bit more to what took place over a period of two Semesters in Natch. than a little pot smoking. That goes on everywhere but when You child Lands a bunch of friends that are Not good for Her or Her Education and are stealing from Her It is time to move on.If You like the drugs and STD' by all means hang around after all its a really nice place to live.

I'm a middle aged married female living in Florida, Soon to be single. I was in Homer last summer. Not much going on there but I really liked Lake Claiborne. I would like to relocate near there but think a job will be hard to find, I'm a former homemaker who doesn't have a high school diploma but plans to get one. Little job experience. Can anyone give me advice about the closest town to Homer where I could live cheaply but fairly safe and have a chance at a decentpaying job while I go to school? I might have to rent a room from someone until I get better on my feet. Thanks for any help you could give me,windydawn

Hello everyone, I recently just got a job offer in Sherveport and am looking for advice as when I get down there I will have very limited time to find housing. My other option is an extended stay hotel (I have a rottie and two cats so this would be real tough for me) and keep my girlfriend at home until I found a place (This also wouldnt fly with her as she is the one whos going to have the final stay on house and area.) So was looking for some suggestions and came across this thread Minden and Ruston seem to be the front runners so far (Unless something has changed). I am from Detroit (Now live in the suburbs) so the crime "stats" (made up or not) seem to be a little bothersome. Looking to move into a house (probably rental for now) with 2-3 bedrooms around 1500-2500 Sq feet in a "small downtown area". I currently live here Welcome to Downtown Northville! so am looking for something with a similar feel, some resturants and bars that is not overly commercial. Sorry if this is a bit long winded but this is a BIG and LONG move for us.

Thanks in advance for helping out the new guy.

I visited lake Claiborne last year and thought it was quite beautiful. There were some erally nice homes located around it, but I'm not sure how far it is away from the Shreveport area but you might want to go have look out there.

I too am looking for housing in or around Homer. When I visited last month I noticed that Minden was a dry county. No bars or alcohol. Just say'in.
