Hi everybody, firstly, sorry for my English, I'll try to do my best but I'm French and currently I miss some vocabulary, grammar etc..

So..Currently, I'm still in France with my parents, but we'd like to move in USA as quickly as possible. We already go to some city for holidays, like Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, New York, etc..I didn't know the Louisiana since I discovered a series TV that i'm currently watching : The Originals. It happens to the New Orleans, and It seems really nice. So, when we'll leave France for USA, we probably move for Henderson/Las Vegas at the beginning because they want to go there. But personally, I like Las vegas but only for hollidays, I don't see myself to live there for the rest of my life..

In brief, that's not the subject..Of course, I'm here for meet some peoples, but the main thing is I'd like to know your opinions about Louisiana (Not only New Orleans, I seen b√Ęton rouge and it seems good too). How is it there, the life, activities, weather, etc..

Thanks

Louisiana has a lot of crime and political problems due to poverty, but overall you will find some of the happiest people you may ever meet. We love festivals and social gatherings. We have endured a lot of trials as a state and overcome all of it. But we need to be wiser with our resources.
The food here could blow your mind.
Culturally, you might feel a bit familiar with a few things but it will still seem very different from what you are used to.
Louisiana is never boring though!

No matter where you go , there will be parts of town that have a higher incidence of crime than others . This is true of New Orleans and Baton Rouge as well . There is no need to be afraid of either one . Just use common sense and be aware of your surroundings .

It has beautiful French and Spanish architecture and is a wonderful party atmosphere.

New Orleans has the best food in the USA, the happiest lifestyle and terrible crime in certain areas although the French Quarter is pretty safe.

Keep in mind there is not many people speaking French in Louisiana any more...there was an active effort for decades to eradicate French and force everyone to speak English. I grew up near New Orleans and still love the culture that developed there.

No not really but some areas are wise to avoid. Its pretty easy in most places to find out where the safe places are.

If you want to speak in french, go west of Lafayette to the small towns around there. Lots of authentic cajuns.
