I have an 08 ford explorer. my wrench indicator light came on and when I took it to the ford dealer, they stated the light was indicating 1.) front wheel bearings 2.) solenoid body or 3.) transmission from the computer testing. Of course, they said I need a new transmission. My transmission works like the day I bought it. I do need to change the one front wheel hub, it was last change about 13mths ago and can hear the loud sound starting to come back. The ford dealer thinks it is the transmission and not the wheel bearings. My question is, could this light come on just because the transmission fluid needs to be changed or low? I bought it with 30K miles on it and now it has 130K miles. I was told by a family member it is not necessary to change transmission fluid. other than this light on, my SUV drive great? I'm confused as to why I have a light on when I feel like the truck is driving fine. Thanks.

Find another mechanic to evaluate your problem . Ask for a recommendation from someone you trust .

What does this thread have to do with Louisiana? Shouldn't it be in the car or automotive section?
