Voting is here again for a governor. We Louisianians must amplify our voices.

I've read 2 articles on the same day concerning the military. Now I know that it's above our governors heads about the military, but they need to step up.

The first one is about homeless veterans.

https://www.katc.com/news/st-landry-...s-up-this-year

The second: https://www.katc.com/news/covering-l...national-guard

Does anyone see what's wrong here? And ol Gov. John Bel Edwards is very proud of his military background?! I'm like...WTF?!

We need to do better than this. Our taxes were raised when someone said he wasn't going to. Gee, I wonder who said that. Now I know that some will say, well who would foot the bill for the shelters or housing, I'll be the first to say that I'll gladly pay taxes on that. I mean, these veterans risked their lives for us, why can't we return the favor and help these guys/gals out.

What say you?

And Veterans who are able to work deserve better jobs than the few Edwards has given us.

Counting jobs from the construction of LNG plants in Lake Charles is dishonest because those jobs are temporary.

Has anyone mentioned those Lake Charles plants are only employing a fraction of the labor force once complete?

What about the flooding debacle that John Bel Edwards gave us?

Some people who become military officers seem to do this with a future career in politics in mind instead of actually wishing to serve their country. Then once they become politicians they forget their military service except for when its time to campaign.

If Edwards flops in these four years, by all means go ahead and elect a capable public servant Republican; there aren´t many left in 2019, but Charles Boustany is a name that comes to mind...

But if any of you thought that Rispone was going to help Louisiana along, you´re delusional. He offered no plan, ducked out on most any constructive debate with JBE, and I can only assume that he was going to cut and slash Louisiana to another gigantic fiscal hole like the one Jindal left us. So much for the party of fiscal responsibility.

Just because Phil Robertson and Trump played demagogue on the mic in their circus-style political rallies it means that Rispone should have been elected? Nope, it didn´t happen (though it was a close race). I wish JBE well and if a CAPABLE and experiences Republican governor succeeds him, I wish that person the same.

As for our poor veterans, follow the money. Which party has cut more funding to the VA and other support networks for vets? Just saying that you support our troops and stand for the flag doesn´t make it right, you´re not freed up from the responsibility of caring for these people and offering them help.

I was pleased to see John Edwards reelected. I think he was the right choice.
