I work in public service so I'm not going to comment on that one. That said, our new Mayor will take office in July. It'll be interesting. Truth be told, it's an interesting time for Lake Charles right now.

It's interesting because it's the first time we've had a new mayor since 1994. What's also interesting is the chemical and industrial expansions and what these expansions could bring to the city. The casinos have resulted in several hotels along Prien Lake Rd. Perhaps this could be a nice getaway spot for other residents of Louisiana as well as East Texas. I'm also curious about what's to become of our infrastructure.

How could anyone stay in office that long! I know I would love to see the bridge replaced before it has to get closed for deficiencies like LA 1 in Port Allen. Marijuana legalization would help explode the tourism from Texas, just imagine with Houston and Dallas being right there and New Orleans being what it is.

They plan on doing construction on the I-210 bridge (it's survived two major hurricanes so it's pretty study but traffic increase calls for maintenance), however, they'll probably let the I-10 collapse before they do anything. That's the question of the century! We are all trying to figure that one out. Truth be told, because often no one who was well known ran against him. In addition to that, people in the lake area are rather apathetic when it comes to voting. Did I mention that NIMBYism runs pretty deep here too? Marijuana legalization would be economically sound for the state as a whole to say the least.

That is terrible. That's like the reign of a king. It would transform the state.

And it is sad, but I agree that they will let the bridge crumble before they replace it.

I don't hate it, but it would never pass.

I'd say it has just as good of a chance of passing as marijuana legalization?
