Grand Isle State Park is the best place to do that.

Thank you. Years ago we had plans to go there and Hurricane blowed things away just before we were to leave.

Maybe this time will be different.

Spring and early Summer are better times as late Summer and Fall can bring Hurricanes.

So I'd plan a trip in the next few weeks if you can.

The Tarpon Rodeo is last week of July I believe and you probably don't want to be there then unless you are competing as it gets really crowded.

Another thing, there is a toll road to get there so bring some cash and change.

We love fishing on the beach. We usually go to Rutherford and Holly Beach. Johnson Bayou too. Usually end up near the ferry in Cameron or at the Jetties in Cameron. Our bait is squid, crab, mullet and shad. For the beach, we usually wade out chest deep and cast out. Leave reel open and go back to the shore. We use pvc pipe with cut out area on top to rest rods in. Hammer the pipe in sand. I tend to catch red (drum) on crab. Sometimes we catch trash fish. But fun regardless. I always say... A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work. Best of luck to you...
