Hey,

I currently live on the MS Gulf Coast and have been here for three years. While the area is truly beautiful, it appears to me to be lacking. I was originally from Atlanta area (born and raised). Maybe my view of the Coast is it doesn't have that urban/suburban vibe like cities have. Even in the heart of downtown Gulfport or on casino row in Biloxi, its just lacking to me.

So I have considered possibly moving to the northshore area. For one, the state of Louisiana appeals more to me than Mississippi. Secondly, being on the northshore in the NOLA metro area may give me that "vibe" im looking for. All while being a short ride to the heart of the city. I was considering Slidell, Mandeville, or Covington. All of which seems to be on the rise while the coast seems to be settling sort of.

My question is, in your opinion, which is better? Ms Gulf Coast or LA Northshore?

Northshore isnt that amazing. Mostly suburbs and strip malls. Mandeville is kind of nice I guess.

Depends on what you like. Both are highly suburban but you are closer to Nola. It's probably like Marietta to Atlanta.

You can't find suburbia in Biloxi? That's surprising to me.

I don't know man, I understand the coast isn't for everyone, me included. Some folks absolutely love it, I never understood the appeal. I like hills, so nowhere on that latitude appealed to me.

Covington and the Mandeville area have been pretty hot in recent years and seem to be a popular destination for people to move to. I passed through there recently and it is definitely growing a lot. Explore the area and see though. I'm sure you can find many of the same things that are on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and maybe more since you are closer to NOLA. Its a short drive if you ever get the feeling to go to the beach and such again. Of course New Orleans and the closer you are to the city in such as suburbs like Metairie will offer a whole lot more than Mississippi.

Would you still be working in Biloxi?

Covington is really nice. It was my favorite town in Louisiana, personally. I would recommend that area.
