I totally agree. They should also reopen Storyville in New Orleans. Second state to legalize prostitution would be a boon for taxes as well.

I highly agree. But it's too valuable being prohibited by the cops. Remember, they have to make money making busts, seizing property and also keeping the numbers of prison inmates. The prison makes that money from our taxes.

You know we can't take that away from them. Especially for a plant responsible for zero deaths and overdoses. But hey. Don't go after the alcohol, right?!

I live in Colorado and I'm not a fan of legalized weed. It sounds great for those who partake, but it really has brought in a flood of transients who don't contribute anything. I don't believe that weed would help your situation. We're all very happy that California has legalized pot, and we're hoping to see far fewer people moving here to get stoned.

Went back in '16, not my thing. To me a lot of people seemed fake. They try to be friendly and ask how your day goes, this and that. When you answer them, most do not reply, like you're talking to a brick wall. Was glad to come home. Scenery is beautiful. I think that alone would sell me to Colorado.

Just because a person fails a marijuana test does not mean he was high on marijuana while driving. It takes up to 30 days for pot to leave the system of a daily smoker. The article points out the increase in accidents since legalization does not correlate with driving while high. Since its legal, it stands to reason a higher percentage of drivers are going to be driving with marijuana in their system than before legalization.

How about this scenario - A person who smokes weed on a daily basis could smoke his one and only daily joint at 10 in the morning, goes to bed, gets up at 2:30, leaves for work at 3pm and while on his way to work, he runs a red light and broadsides another vehicle. For sure, he would fail a marijuana test but that doesn't mean he was high on marijuana when he ran that red light. The cops wouldn't be able to arrest the driver for driving while high, unless he had some marijuana in his car and a pipe and the smell of weed coming from the vehicle.

Why does someone have to have a high paying job or be a business owner? Colorado needs plumbers, delivery drivers, mechanics, etc like anywhere else.

Sounds like the south, I'm used to asking "How ya doing?"as a greeting but I really don't care. It's the same as saying hello to me.

Hey, I agree. But you asked about the contributions of the influx of people to Colorado.

There's a lot of people that moved there with no jobs lined up and there's a number of homeless people in the cities there.
