When I say complement, I mean things like shopping centers and other recreation, corporate offices-encouraging companies to set camp here, improved roads. We need more job types outside of the plant work.

More shopping centers? Prien Lake Mall is the largest shopping center in Lake Charles and there is clearly no demand for more consumer activity inside. The stores are closing or already vacant at Prien Lake Mall. Outside Prien Lake Mall is where the recreation opportunities exist. Men in hoods are wandering about at night robbing people.



If you are so concerned about our fair community, what about going to the back of Prien Lake Mall tonight and telling those robbers to be nicer so the rest of Lake Charles can visit the movie theatre again without having to carry a gun to fight off the robbers after watching a movie?

Really? Why the hostility? Traditional enclosed malls are losing their appeal. It's those town centers gaining popularity. You know what I mean by recreation, your sarcasm is not cute.

And seeing that it's not my job to be clean up man, I fail to see how I'm obligated to do such. I could ask the same of YOU. LC is rather boring many nights and there's often nothing to do but get into trouble.

Entertainment/recreation might be a good idea. But shopping centers/malls probably won't come. Those types of shopping establishments are closing down across the country because of online shopping. But LC could use more putt-putt places, bowling, 3d experience places, Dave & Buster's type places...things like that. None of those places provide high paying white collar jobs, though. I'm afraid LC has missed the boat on that. There was a time when LC could have gotten some white collar places, like larger company offices and such. But they went to gambling and more industries, instead. I can't say that was a mistake, since I don't know enough about it. But any city needs white collar businesses for job diversity, preservation of environment, housing purchases, low crime, etc.

There are a lot more medical providers than there used to be, so that's good.

Still more walkable districts could be included. Also, I do feel there's room to expand economically. Perhaps in the technology and research sectors? How about civil service? It just seems that unless one is a nurse or an engineer, the options are limited in Greater Lake Charles. Also, the north and east shouldn't be ignored. They are a part of LC as well.

They need more restaurants. The good restaurants are jam packed (Steamboat Bills, Tony's, Darrell's, Pronia's, Cotton's).

There are 11 hotels within a half mile of L'auberge but only a few restaurants in that particular area except for the casino restaurants, which are hard to get to (you have to walk through the casino).

Yes I realize the restaurants are nearby on Prien Lake Road but come on, we need some more restaurants. We need a decent Mexican Restaurant. Casa Manana is not good, trust me I live in Texas. Build a Chuy's, even Lafayette has one.

El tapatio has legit Mexican. Rosita's also opened a second location on 5th avenue. But more restaurants would be nice.

Well, the Contraband Pkwy is now open so one or two more hotels will probably be built out there, especially since there's some waterfront views back that.

I agree LC needs a greater selection of Mexican places other than El Tap... Casa Manana is OKAY, nothing great... Casa Ole is nasty...
