Hi all! I will be visiting Lake Charles again in August. Is Harrah's still there? I heard it closed and could not find it on the Harrah's website.

So what casinos are in town? I've been to Isle of Capri and Harrah's, where else should I go? Do any of the casinos have a poker room?

Thanks!

Believe it or not, Lake Charles is now home to one of the finest casinos in the state, only behind Harrah's New Orleans and surpassing Horseshoe here in Shreveport-Bossier City.

You need to Google L'Auberge du Lac. I believe you will be impressed.

Harrah's was destroyed by the hurricane and they decided not to rebuild.

L'Auberge is far superior. It's not Vegas but it's nice.

That I can think of, nothing else really close by but Lake charles isn't that big so you could stay anywhere in town and still not be that far away. You could rent a car or take a taxi.

Yeah, a couple of hotels have been built on lake street and a hotel not far from laberge a little past olive garden before getting on the over pass. Also Wyndham is building a hotel right next to olive garden.

Don't you folks realize giving money to a casino is a stupid tax?

Spend your money with mom and pop. All righty then.
