I'm praying for the people in the path of Gustav. Please listen to the evacuation orders and get out of town NOW. There's nothing worth risking your life over. Take your animals and hit the highway. God Bless all of you.

Default Louisiana says "Thanks"

All of you folks who have posted on this thread thank you so much for all the kindness. Once again, it's showtime! Sorry just trying to lighten up a bad situation. Hopefully it won't be as bad as a cat 5 hurricane could, but we can't see that far ahead in time. I don't want it to destroy anyones homes or businesses in Louisiana or any other state. We could have flooding from heavy rains in the interior of La but the evacuees from down south will be safe up here. Right now, La south of I-10 is getting ready to go or is driving up. Thanks and God Bless you all.

I pray that you all got out of there and are able to come back safely to your homes, which hopefully will be as you left them. I hope the pets and senior citizens weren't left behind this time. So many tragedies came out of Katrina...I hope lessons were learned by all and that these travesties will not be repeated. Be safe and God Bless.

We (SC coast) just might not escape the wrath of one or more of these upcoming tropical disturbances/storms brewing in the Atlantic and may be needing ya'll's prayers in the next few weeks too...

Myprayers are with you as well. I was just down in New Orleans a couple of months ago and was so proud of the progress you guys are making down there. I pray that this hurricane will weaken and that it will miss New Orleans completely.

God bless!

Special thanks to the OP for starting this thread, and I join with all of you in extending my heartfelt prayers to everyone in New Orleans and the coast between there and Galveston, Texas. I am probably writing this a little too late to effectively console those who live in Gustav's path. But once the rain and winds subside, the combined power of American individuals, charities like the Red Cross and government organizations will work mightily to do what it can to restore some normalcy to their lives.

May Almighty God give them mercy, safety, consolation and healing at this time and in the coming days and weeks. May His light shine through all the rest of us who will try to assist them pastorally, emotionally and financially too.
