What pro teams do most folks in Louisiana cheer for? Do people in Lake Charles cheer for the Saints or are there more Texan fans there? What about baseball? Aside from the Astros, what is the next closest team? Does Lousiana have any pro baseball loyalty? I assume most people are Hornets fas for basketball? What about hockey?

Just really curious and would appreciate some input. Does the western part of the state prefer Texas teams to New Orleans teams?

Don't know about SOUTHwest Louisiana, but NORTHwest Louisiana seems to be a good mix of Saints and Cowboys fans, with the occasional oddball Chiefs fan, Redskins fan, etc.

I still don't understand this world's obsession with professional sports, however.

LSU (I know, not pro) is enough for us, even in a down year. Saints as well. Although I favor the Cowboys. Not many Texans fans that I know of around here.
Baseball, it's pretty much the Astros, quite a few Braves fans too, and a few loyal Cubs fans like myself. 1908-2008 baby! Maybe it's finally our year to break the curse! lol.
Basketball, pre-Hornets, I think we had a few Mavericks and I guess Rockets fans around BTR. It's pretty much all Hornets now.
Hockey, haha. That was never really a thing in south Louisiana until recently. A lot of northern transplants have brought a love for the game with them, so we do have some bigtime hockey fans now. Don't know who they cheer for though. I personally don't keep up with it, but on occasion I'll check it out.
Everything revolves around football down here though.
