Lol, I actually know someone who is from Seattle and she moved down here on a whim for the crawfish. I live in Sulphur, which is right next to Lake Charles. We don't get talked about a whole lot but it's a pretty ok place to live. We have some good festivals, MArdi Gras parades, some really beautiful parks and the crime rate is actually pretty low compared to places like Shreveport, and New Orleans. I guess you could say there is enough culture here without the EXTREME that is New Orleans. And it's only a little drive to New Orleans so you can visit and still get a taste of it. I'm the kind of person who loves a place like New Orleans, but in very small doses. It's fun if you want to party or a tourist, but the fast lifestyle, high crimerate, and obvious housing issues make it a crappy place to live in my opinion. LC is a much milder place. Also Lafayette is really nice too and bigger than Lake Charles so that may be somthing for you to look at.

Default South

The south means many things. There are big differences from States and cities etc. Be more specific.
