Moving to Vinton, interested in meeting new people. What goes on here? I am relocating for work and it's happening way too fast. Any advice, direction - anything is appreciated!

There is an excellent Pentecostal church about 10 miles north of Vinton in the small town of Starks pastored by Rev. Frazier

Vinton is a quaint little town with friendly people. I only wish there was a McDonald's here, other than that if you like the slow-paced lifestyle, getting a friendly greeting and a wave as you drive by homes, then you will like living here. Like every place it has its negatives but for the most part, there are a variety of churches, a few entertainment choices (Delta Downs Racetrack & Casino) with live bands and national music celebrities appearing ocassionally, the Longhorn club/restaurant as well as other small casinos, (Cotton's Corner) and Bingo (almost daily). For the most part, there is a low crime rate here and people are eager to lend a helping hand when needed.

My mom worked in Vinton at a school there. There's not a whole lot to do except the racetrack. But it's about 15-20 minutes to Lake Charles and all the fun there. It's a quiet town.

If you are an outdoorsman then Vinton is also on the edge of the Sabine River and offers great game hunting.
