Does anyone happen to know the latest about her case? I was following it for a long time but moved away and when I went back, never heard anything more about it. I'm curious if it was ever solved or what the last bit of news might've been regarding it.

Also wondered if....

her disappearance might've been connected to Kristy O'pry (sp) and I believe her name was Cory Rubio - any news on either of those cases? Just found it curious back then that they were 2 years apart each and had a lot of similarities in common, so wondered if they could've been related....

...and given the time periods involved, if maybe they could've been related to the Baton Rouge serial killer.

Any info on these by chance? Thanks!

They have had leads pop up over the years, and a couple years ago they dug up part of the riverfront by the Stoner Boat Launch after a cadaver dog hit on something. Nothing was found. This is in regard to the Rubio case.

A guy named Eric Mickelson was arrested in July 2007 and charged with Kristy O'Pry's murder, among others, though a body has yet to be found. He led police to a pond on property in Greenwood near the American Rose Center, but when the pond was drained and the property was searched, nothing was found. Nevertheless, Mickelson was well on his way to being a full-fledged serial killer before he was finally arrested.

As far as I know, the Mayberry case is just as stagnant as the O'Pry case. Way too many women come up missing from this region only to never be seen again. A lot of this was going on when I first moved my wife here and I wasn't sure if I was making the right move by doing so.

A guy named Robert Cole was arrested earlier this year for killing his pregnant wife in a trailer park in south Bossier. Apparently he killed her because the body of another person he had killed in the past, Christopher Pierce, had been pulled out of the Red River inside a vehicle. Cole was afraid he was going to be charged with the murder and it's thought that his wife had discovered what he had done, ultimately leading to her murder. Authorities also believe Cole might have been responsible for the brutal murder of a female manager at the same south Bossier Taco Bell from which Pierce vanished, as well as the murder of a Barksdale airman, whose remains were pulled out of the river in a similar fashion to those of Pierce, around the same time.

Every couple of years I wonder what is happening in this case too and have a draw to revisit it. I lived in Elysian Fields, TX where her body was found in 1994 and moved to go to college the next year. I'll never forget sitting in class and hearing that her body had been found, though I had heard that two local girls out walking had come across the house she died in and lately I've been reading that it was a hunter or a nearby resident that found her body. I'll also never forget the shock of seeing FBI agents in Elysian Fields because it was such a quiet town. The teenagers out there raised hell, that's for sure, but nobody expected anything that evil to ever happen out there.

The area was so isolated that there's no way anyone NOT familiar with the area would have brought her there. Nobody went through Elysian Fields unless they meant to see someone and I don't know if knowledge of that abandoned house was common out there - I never knew of its existance. As I understand it, it was pretty well screened from the road, though I don't know where the house was. We called the road she was found on Rabbit Road and I never went down there after her body was found on it. I still get a creepy feeling when I drive through there and have nightmares that I'm alone and my car has broken down on Rabbit Road.

This may seem odd, but does anyone know where that house was located? I always thought it was close to FM 451 since that's where the FBI seemed to be meeting though lately it's occured to me that the area where they met could have been staging. I don't know why I want to know where she died or was left, I just do.

The last I heard was they had a witness that saw her with Eric Mickelson at some cafe or truckstop on the night in question. What became of that I'm not sure. Prior to that they suspected Chris Timon which turned out to be a very bizarre situation which only a few people new about. Turns out, the two guys, Garrett Wilson and Lyn Shaw that planned the robbery, got Chris Timon to go out with them that night. Little did he know, the two of them were planning this robbery and in the event things went wrong they were gonna put it all on Chris. Before Lyn turned himself in, he contacted Garrett and they put their plan in action. When the grand jury conviened, Garrett and Lyn testified putting the blame on Chris. It was soon afterwards uncovered that Garrett had told Lyn what to say before the grand jury. Recently, evidence has come to light that Garrett went out of his way to create witnesses to corroborate his scheme to insure that Chris was convicted and he was compensated for helping out; which he was.
Garrett took alot of time coercing Tammy Williams and he did this by 3 way phone calls from jail to his x-wife, who then called Tammy. Not only did Tammy testify as to what she was told to say, but he also got his wife to make up a story that she heard Chris in the background that night Garrett called her. Interesting to note is that Tammy also told detectives that Chris said he stabbed Kayla Mayberry and Cindy Cathey. Funny thing is, Kayla didn't have any stab wounds and Cindy's killer had already pled guilty to the crime a long time before this. Tammy said Chris shot the guy on I-49 4x's but the statement Lyn gave was that 6 or 7 shots were fired that night. They news never said how many times the guy was shot and the only ones that knew that information was the people directly involved in the case. Turns out, not only did Garrett get her to testify as to what he wanted he to, but Tammy had it out for Chris for other reasons also. Investigators never knew this, but Chris worked undercover for the Bossier parish sheriff's dept. and also the DEA. In 1994, Chris was approached by someone with the DEA and was paid to get close to Tammy and find out more on her drug dealer who went by the name Ike; who they had been after for a while. In Dec., 1994, someone leaked that Chris was working undercover and word spread quick. Recently, while talking to a friend of mine that's a lawyer, he told me that an anonymous secretary had disclosed a letter that Lyn Shaw had sent to his lawyer, before Chris's trial, where he asked the lawyer could it ever be brought up that he and Garrett hated Chris and planned this whole thing. I always thought he was involved it all that untill I saw all the information with my own eyes. They didn't have any evidence on him and they only had the testimony of Tammy and Garrett to convict him. No gun, no eyewitness, no DNA, no nothing. Then I heard that they're investigating something to the effect that employees from Horeshoe Casino made accusations that Horseshoe paid Chris's attorney Daryl Gold somewhere in the ballpark of 200,000 to lose the trial???
In 1998, Chris contacted the Shreveport Police dept and told them he would give them DNA on the Mayberry case to clear his name of it. He did, and no one ever heard anything else about it.
Is it legal for a state to condone perjury and use illegal methods to secure a conviction against a defendant? ???

What exactly were you looking to find out about Chris Timon? I mean, there were alot of rumors floating around but lately, talk within the legal community is that alot of evidence has surfaced that shows he wasn't the one who shot that guy. Did you happen to know him?

What you heard about two local girls finding her is correct. My friend and I were walking through the woods and found her. We were 15 at the time so the cops tried to shield us from the media. It still gives me chills. I was hoping by now they would have caught her killer. That house was right on the road but the trees and brush made it hard to see it. I know that anyone not familiar with the area wouldnt have seen it. It had to be someone who knew that area, in my opinion. My friend and I used to walk the pipe line that lead to Rabbit Road. I havent been back to Elysian Fields since 2001, but I know they demolished that house and cleared out a bunch of trees before I left. I could definitely tell someone where the house was, I never forget it.

I'd like to know what happened to Jan Todd and Jodie Toney back in 1995 or whenever it was. That was my friends mom and I knew her personally.

Jan and Jodie's bodies were found in the bed of that pickup truck buried under the gravel mound in Bossier City, next to I-220 right off of Benton Rd at the gravel/concrete company.
