I was thinking the same. Pontchatoula is kind of a dump unless the new Walmart interests you.

I raked my brain to come up what up he's referring to. We use to have a very good German restaurant, but it's closed. Roux and Brew is good, but not great. There's a buffet place in town that's ok. I believe there's Chinese take-out. Paul's, but surely he's not referring to that. There's a restaurant where the Mexican restaurant used to be. Also a Waffle House. Beat's me, can't figure it out. Nightlife, about the only nightlife I'm aware of are the bars and Walmart.

No appealing road food destinations, you are saying?

I remember going to this place years ago--it was fantastic! Looked it up the other day and was disappointed to find it had closed permanently.

My comment was in response to an earlier post: "Ponchatoula is a beautiful, historic town with an excellent nightlife and restaurant selection for a town its size." Sure, you can find places to eat there. The country buffet place is pretty good. But 'excellent' is not a word I would use to describe the nightlife and restaurant scene in Ponchatoula, LA. To get 'excellent', you probably need to drive about 40 miles southeast to New Orleans.

It's a very small town with very very little going on. It's not a destination.
