People can be very negative on the internet. It happens everywhere. SOme of them are trolls. some of them are misinformed or just may not enjoy certain aspects of an area that are desirable to others.

An example would be the guy who bashed Monroe while praising Seattle, which is a great city no doubt but also a place I'd never want to live for various reasons. Not to mention that comparing a small southern city in a struggling part of a struggling state with a very affluent and predominantly white/asian city in a far northern state that does not have to deal with many of the costly natural disasters we face in this state. Its a completely different environment but by no means is it a "better" one. Its just different. My home is the South. I have visited the north. I know what its like up there. Im not In a "bubble" where I don't know any better, but what I do know is that I feel comfortable here. I feel peaceful, at ease. I can relax at my own pace here without being rushed from one destination to the next, even in the big southern cities. Also, there really isnt another region that can compare to the food found here.

Hi, there, everyone! Just want to tell y'all how much I had a great time visiting Natchitoches earlier this year. I went in June and enjoyed the tour of the downtown streets by the Cane River. Also had some fantastic food (various seafood, meat pies, crawfish pies, bread pudding, and more). As soon as I get another opportunity to get back down there, I most certainly will go again.

Hope you folks are looking forward to a great Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

Speaking of Christmas, you ought to go back then. They have a BEAUTIFUL festival of lights and trees. A true sight to behold.
