How many out there have lost their jobs or are in danger of losing their jobs if things don't soon pick up. I've seen many of my coworkers go home here lately and I know my job will be lost soon as well.

What line of work are you in?

I Will be in New Orleans shortly for about 2-4 months, before doing some bigger construction projects in New York, and than heading out to Seattle for the rest of the year, than finally coming back to Michigan for a month or two for rest and starting the whole process over again haha. Not 100% sure of your situation, but if you can I'd say move around working in different states almost like a truck driver(without missing all the great locations, because you're a truck driver lol)

If you're into construction I can probably get you some long-term work within a day or two.

For you younger, single guys & gals, don't hold yourself to one state if you can avoid it, the economy isn't that good at the moment, but on the bright side you will be able to really explore the country right now, making some good life-long friends, and have some crazy stories to tell your family/friends. Plus when you finally decide to settle down, you'll have plenty of experience to decide which state is best for you to live and/or raise a family in.

Thanks for the advise but until I have to, I'll have to hang around here. I haven't lost my job yet but it seems likely that I could. We had 8 more to get a notice that this would be there last week just today. I work in south Arkansas. They are telling the ones affected by this that they can transfer to south Louisiana or Houston but I don't know how many will. We are comparing it to a war. Every week we lose a few more good men then someone else has to get on the front line to catch the next bullets.

Well Stacie, I guess we are the only ones affected by this crisis. I'm just happy to know it's not as wide spread as I thought.

Don't want to change the subject, but are there any oilfield jobs out there? I have a class A CDL with tanker endorsement, and a few years of experience in cementing and fracturing. I've been doing odd jobs to survive since being laid off by Schlumberger two months ago.

Does it have to be a oil field job? I think associated out side of Monroe LA is hauling pipes you can go there and apply! You have to be there at 6am

That's bad in one way but in my little feeble mind, that tells me that things would have turned around if gas goes up.

There's at least three of us! I'm graduating college in two months and no one is hiring!
