Im not downing no other fesivals in our state but you guys should make plans to visit this festival one year It isnt no jazz fest but it is one of bigest festivals in the state.. Our downtown here in Lafayette is transferred to something you wont see no other place in the world..Fun for all age groups from old to young from black to white. Over 500,000 people come to it from all around the world ..They even broadcast it on a Tv station in France (TV5Monde)...There are 5 stages scatterd around the downtown area, with hundreds of things to do while your walking everywhere, not to metion all the bars, clubs, cafes and storers that line up the streets downtown already.. Performers from Europe, Africa, Jamica, Brazil, local Zydeco artist, and artisrt from other states as well. It starts on Wed and last tell sunday..Bring the kids while there is daylight then find a babysittler at night(trust me) Lafayette's dowtown really is something to see at night trust me if you havent been before..Anybody went see Kieth Frank perform last night??? Anyone heard of the festival but has never came to it ???? I had a blast last night check out the linkand these pictures and give me somefeed back and let me know about festivals in your area

my wife, son, and i went yesterday. it was great, but the drinks are expensive. we just brought a small cooler with our drinks and snacks for the son, then went ate sushi after we left. we all had a great time. the south african singers captivated my son, he wouldn't move until they were done. also, chicha libre was awesome. i had never heard of them, but they had us and everyone else dancing to the very rhythmic south american music, very unique.

there is plenty of opportunity to spend Alot of money there, but we had a whole afternoon and night there for less than 20.00
