Hi all, I hope I'm posting this in the right place. My husband, our son, and I are looking for a place to stay one night near Vermilionville, and Cafe de Amis. I'm hoping to avoid a big chain, but all of the cute charming places I'm finding seem really expensive. So does anyone have any suggestions for cute charming places to stay in the area that don't cost an arm and a leg?

Lafayette is one of the most expensive cities in the South...I can't recall the exact source but I read it on a magazine's website or in a local news article a few years back.

Have you tried googling for bed and breakfasts in the area? I can't really help you beyond that though, sorry. I had looked in to a few a long while back but don't recall any specifics

Oh yea, I've googled my little heart out. That is why I am looking for information from people who may be familiar with the area.
Thanks

I'm quite familiar with the area as I lived there for ten years...the B&B's I found were over $100/night if memory serves. Another suggestion aside from Google is to contact the tourism department. Also, try the Daily Advertiser's forum (local newspaper):
