I didn't know exterminators spray for snakes, so I might look into that too. Oh btw, I'm no where near a body of water. The snake 'came out' during that time we went 4 weeks with out rain earlier this year, which I believe was around March or April. Its a shame too, I have wonderful lemon, fig and orange trees, now I'm afraid to go out and enjoy my fruit.

The person that made the toliet comment, I hope you are joking, I'm scared to death he may find his way into the sewer lines so I keep all of my drains (tub, sink) closed. However there is no way to close the toilet drain.
Hahaha at the toilet comment!

Take a deep breath! He's only a snake, he's more scared of you than you are of him. By all means go out and enjoy your fruit, that snake is probably long gone, anyway.

There are lots of "good" snakes in south Louisiana and some you have to give a wide berth. If you live in south Louisiana, you should accept the local fauna and educate yourself about the good guys and the bad guys. Try to overcome your fear-most snakes will avoid you --I've seen too many folks kill the helpful ones- like the speckled king-because they think all snakes are bad.

Thanks for the calming words. My fig tree produces twice a year and I had to let the birds have the early season crop because I was worried about that stupid snake, LOL. My nephew has promised to come pick my late season crop when its ready. My oranges too. But I would like to go pick them myself again like I did last year. My lawn man came today and he said he still haven't seen it, so you might be right MetroBTR it might be long gone, but he promised to buy some snake away and put down when he comes back in two weeks. I did ask him about that toilet thing and he had a good hardy laugh, told me it could happen but didn't think it was likely to happen. :>)
