Hi...we are looking to relocate and one option may be around Monroe. We have two elementary aged kids so schools are a big priority. We also will be looking to rent for a while. We like a small to mid-town atmosphere. Any suggestions?

Sterlington is a good place. About 10 minutes north of Monroe. They have a new high school and are in the process of building a new elementary school.

Default Sterlington and Frenchman's Bend

I'm considering moving to Frenchman's Bend, but have been told
it isn't as nice as it was a few years ago. My other choice is Ruston.
I'm retiring, and want a nice, safe place to buy a home.

West Monroe or Ruston... or somewhere out in the sticks in between.

Default It's Ruston

We spent a few days with a realtor checking out the Monroe, Sterlington, W. Monroe areas. It was surprising to see beautiful, expensive homes right near auto shops, junk yards or whatever! Seemed to me you had to go through all kinds of dilapidated areas anywhere you went to look for the nice homes. We ended up searching in Ruston, and feel this is where we need to be. Now that I'm comfortable with the town we've chosen, I hope finding the right house will be a good experience.
