Got a ticket today, 77 in a 70 by a Washington Parish Deputy on I49 right as I was coming down and overpass. Speed control was set to 75, so they have some issues with their radar guns. I have family that lives in Alexandria and will visit the Police Chief and see what can be done. I would also tell everyone to avoid paying sales tax in Washington Parish. Maybe they will dry up and blow away.

Grand Coteau recently experiencing increase in home burgularies.. Reason why, the only police officer is sitting on the Interstate handing out speeding tickets right and left. Washington,Port Barre, and Krotz Springs are big time speed traps.

76 mph=$165 for me! Do you not have something better to do, you weenie? I'm paying mine, but never again will you catch me! And to those who will say, "Speeding is speeding." It was down hill and I had my cruise control set at 72-73 mph. I think that's reasonable, but I hear that may even cost you in that town.

Best of all, my brother and my wife are police officers and my father was a police office and fireman!

They were very rude and did not care that I had a family member pay 'the ultimate sacrifice". SAD...

I WILL NEVER STOP IN THAT DIRTY LITTLE TOWN TO ANTIQUE SHOP AGAIN!!

Jules

Uhhh....just where IS that 80 mph zone on a Louisiana interstate?

So you are one of those people that demand special treatment because A FAMILY MEMBER " payed the ultimate sacrifice " ? What makes YOU so special ? What did YOU do to deserve anything ? Trying to capitalize on a relative's death is pretty low down in my book .

I just got a ticket on hwy 49 just past washington, in the st. landry parish area, this guy said he clocked me at 59 in a 55 as he went by the other direction, but then told me he saw me spead up as he went the opposite direction and i went up to 67. So he wrote me at 67 and cost me $195.50. I have never seen any officer clock both directions and far as i am informed if you take your eyes off the road to dial your phone or tex you have increased your chance of an accident by over 70%, so is the most dangerious one on the road to you. The guy going 3 miles over or the guy looking for at least 10 or more seconds to see the car going the other way is speeding up or down?????

Same in Louisiana. If you can prove that you had to speed to maintain safety of your car and everyone around you then you can will your case.

But you better have evidence to prove your point are you're just wasting your time. You will need to show the court that everyone else around you was speeding and that you had to speed in order to be safe.

I got pulled over on I 49 recently for going FIVE (5) miles an hour over the speed limit at Washington, Louisiana. I have No idea where he came from. Obviously the hide out, sit and wait in unmarked suv's, to pull the most vunerable over. In my case several cars were in the same area, and we all must have seen him at the same time. All you could see were the cars in front of me ( including myself ) tapping the brakes. Yea, I happened to pull over, not knowing who he was after, because I was going 80 in a 75 zone. What is the big deal? I know speeding is against the law, but come on!!!!!! The cars ahead of me were going faster than I was. Boy they must be hard up for ANY kind of revenue they can get. They just as soon stop you, tell you to pull what you have in your wallet out and hand it over to them. Are they that hard up for money??? Don't they have more to to with their time? LIKE GO CATCH THE REAL CRIMINALS LIKE DRUG DEALERS, MURDERS, BANK ROBBERS, AND MAYBE EVEN PEOPLE THAT ARE FLYING 90 - 100 mph on I 49.. I think the state of Louisiana needs to investigate this town....Too many tickets written in one little town makes you wonder what the hell is going on...

I believe the proper term is "Revenue".
