Lafayette by far is the best city. it's clean, pretty much crime free compared to the other city's, and is centrally located.

I have to say, I like Lafayette, but the city is not any cleaner than any other Louisiana city IMO. Anybody else remember the thread where a visitor only visited the dirty half of town and decided they thought Lafayette was trashy despite not having seen the entire city?

Hey, I got into UL Lafayette and start in the fall. I'm moving from So California and have only had a brief trip to Lafayette. What are the best places to go in the bar/nightlife scene? Who has the best drink specials and what are they? Any advice would be great.

Jefferson Street in Downtown has lots of nice places. Nite Town is really popular. Closer to campus you have places like the Keg. (Don't ask how someone as old as me knows about all that )

Personally, I found the vibe at Blue Moon much, much, much better than the strip. But that's just me...
