Yep, it's in the American Press paper today that the construction for the Sugarcane Bay casino that was supposed to be adjacent to the Lauberge complex was canclled. It was said that building that casino would be too risky at this time. They did not want to take the risk of having more debt. At this moment they want to focus on the success of Lauberge. And they are still trying to see what to do about the land that they purchased where they Lake Charles Harrah's Casino used to sit at. I'll keep you posted w/ that one.

Honestly Pdfan, I think we have about seen the saturation point of Casinos and gaming everywhere for now. The Casinos are way down for last year and the year before up in Shreveport and elsewhere as well. Once the good times return, so will the gambling. Although Louisianas 6.9% unemp rate is among the lowest in the country, maybe people are bieng more cautious and although the big casino and entertainment corp aren't flushed with money as they once were although most people would find tha t hard to believe. Vegas is in bad shape from what I read. I don't know how that relates to La, but somehow it must. Take care

Yeah I hear Las Vegas isnt doing so well at the moment, and that's where Pinnalce Entertainment is based at and that is who was going to be building the casino. I hear Biloxi isnt doing so well either right now, and that some of it's projects have been suspended indefinitely.

I stated that I was going to try to keep you updated w/ this one. I think they might be knocking down the old casino hotel along the lake front. I passed by there yesterday and there was a liquidation going on. They were selling all of the furniture. I personally cannot imagine that stuff being in any good condition seeing that the place has been abandoned for the past five years. . But yep, now the question is what is to become of that area?

The casino was on its way until it was canceled. Pilings were driven for the foundation.
