Paying sales tax on vehicle if already paid to LA? (DMV, move to)

I know that when you move into Louisiana from elsewhere and bring a vehicle with you, you usually have to pay some sales tax on the value of it when you register it in LA. I searched for the answer to my question (here and on the DMV site) and couldn't find the answer, but I apologize if it's already been answered. If you originally bought a vehicle in Louisiana (so already paid sales tax on a much higher amount than its current value) and then move to another state and then move back to Louisiana, do you still have to pay more sales tax to Louisiana when you bring the vehicle back into the state the second time? (Not sure if it matters what parish. We bought it in EBR and would probably move back there or to somewhere between there and NO.) Thanks!

I wouldn't think so but i would call the DMV on Monday because that website sucks.

My wife and I moved out of state and while away, I bought a new vehicle. Upon return to La, We did not have to pay tax on my wifes car (which was bought in La before the move) but did have to pay a rather large fee on my truck. So to answer you question, no you will not have to pay again.
