My family along with my brother and sisters family are relocating to Kentucky. We currently live in california and make decent money but california has sucked us all dry and we are calling it quits. We have family in Paducah but after searching the web, we found that all the jobs are in Louisville. We would prefer to live outside of louisville. We need jobs for a welder, a property manager, a truck driver, a retail sales assoc. and a tool and die production manager. My questions are.

1. What towns nearby are closest to louisville?
2. How many rentals are there and is it hard to rent?
3. What kinds of natural disasters are most common? tornados etc.
4 How hard is it to find a job?

Any advice would be appreciated.

"We" have made lots of great updates to the wiki page that may be able to answer a few of your questions -
Louisville, Kentucky - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As for the rentals, there are numerous rentals (houses) that are available in certain areas of the city. Unlike huge cities, it's possible to live on one end of the county and work the other. For neighboring cities and counties, beyond just listing them, Jefferson County Kentucky Map
it would be helpful to ask a more specific question.

1. depends on how far outside the city you want to be...jeffersontown, okolona, shively are some of the suburbs that are part of LouMetro area..if you want to be outside Jefferson County places like Mt Washington, Southern Indiana, Anchorage..if you could be more specific on what you are looking for
2. rentals shouldn't be an issue wherever you move..southern Jeff Cop will be more affordable most likely higher end rentals will be towards East end...

3. most common natural disasters are severe thunderstorms, possible flooding during periods of heavy rain mainly spring/summer months, tornadoes are sporadic...IMO winters are mild compared to midwest yand east coast and seem to impact rural areas moreso than Jefferson County

4. cant really answer that it will depend on area/need and the individual...for the welder check out Aerotek they're a temp to hire place you should be able to google their contact info
