Just got back from spending the weekend in Louisville (reside in Chicago's south suburbs). Absolutely loved Louisville... awesome weekend!

Got to see a men's Cardinals game at the KFC Yum Center and see them beat Syracuse. Enjoyed a nice and cold night stroll across the mile bridge all because we absolutely had to have Waffle House. 4th Street Live and the Saddle Ridge is awesome!

Anyways, I regret not talking to more Louisville people about this while there. I realize Louisville is basketball country, but as for pro sports, which teams do you follow (all sports), if any? I would assume that people in Louisville would tend to follow the Colts for football, and maybe the Reds for baseball?

I also got the vibe that the Kentucky/Louisville fans are split, much like Cubs/White Sox fans or UNC/Duke fans. Is that an accurate depiction?

Personally, I follow the Carolina Panthers, LA Angels, and Atlanta Hawks/Orlando Magic. I'd say Louisville follows the Bengals and the Colts for football and the Reds for baseball. Other sports I have no clue.

I'd say that Louisville (and Ft. Knox area) is 70% Cardinals 30% Wildcats. I'd flip that when you get outside of Louisville.

you will find fans of every team here. lots of steeler, bengal, and colts fans as you would expect. i myself am a member of the raider nation and we actually have a pretty big following here.

i grew up in the burbs of chicago (joliet), so i have a soft spot for the bears also!

as far as baseball goes, lots of cubs, reds and cardinal fans here, though i don't think this is much of a baseball town.

go white sox!! SOUTHSIDE!!

I live just outside of Joliet (6 years now). Spent my entire life in Chicago's southwest suburbs.

Saw a few people wearing Cubs hats, and White Sox hats while in Louisville.

I was at Champions on Jefferson for dinner this Saturday, and I asked our waiter if he could put the Bulls game on one of the TVs. He smiled and told me he grew up in Chicago and was happy to put the game on TV.

champions is where our raider booster club watches all the games. coolest thing about it being downtown is during the season we met people from all over the country, just like yourself.
