I found some great suggestions on these forums so decided to put my own question out there. I'm trying to choose between buying an older (rehab) house on "Mansion Row" or near there in New Albany or buying a newer house out in the country on an acre or two. I'm retired, early 50s, recently single (no kids) so commute, school district are not considerations (at least at time of buying). I really like both scenarios. I love being in town, being able to walk to the gym, or a quick trip to Louisville or Jeff for coffee/lunch with friends. And I love the country with the big trees and lush landscaping with friends and family coming to see me on the weekends. Anyone lived in either or both who could give me some advice? My budget is around $220k. Thanks, David

Oh yeah, I do have a well behaved older aussie shepherd mix. I know she has already voted for the country.
