I am seriously considering an offer to move down and work for Beam. I have two young children and would like to be in an area with good schools and that is safe. Any thoughts?

-Considering a position with Jim Beam
-Preferebly would spend around or just under 200k on housing
-Commute preferably less than 40 min
-Good schools private if necessary
-Looking for low crime do not need a lot of excitement or need to be right next to shopping etc.

I think that is probably a good suggestion if you will be working out at the Jim Beam distillery (if you are working in Louisville my suggestions will change). I also think Shepherdsville or Mt Washington would be good to look at. There is a very nice golf course community going up south of Shepherdsville that I believe will be a good buy.

A key reason I didn't suggest Bullitt Co was the desire for good schools.

yeah, the Bullit County schools are not as good as Bardstown. Still, I think they are decent.

Is housing reasonable and crime low? I currently live in South East IN about 35 mi. W of Cincy. I like the small town feel while being reasonably close to the city.
