i think that all the unsavory characters i see around there are walking to/from shepherd square. problem solved! I wasn't considering that area as part of nulu or phoenix hill.I would easily live on east washington or there abouts. maybe i'm mis-informed? anyway, the few reservations i have about it will all be resolved with a bulldozer and wrecking ball. in ten years or less that entire hood will be high dollar in demand.

Demolition of Shepherd Square starts next week. NuLU is a newly coined word for the east Market street area of the Phoenix Hill Area. Washington Street is in the heart of Butchertown, which is also a growing and nice area.

Sjepherd Square should be totally rebuilt like Liberty Green with much nicer mixed income homes by 2016.
