Hello again Louisville.

I have an appointment to look at a spot in the 700 block of E Chestnut in Phoenix Hill over the weekend. I would just like to know how safe is this area. I have two other contenders in Old Louisville and the Highlands, but this one is pretty interesting. So is Phoenix Hill safe for a 23 year old guy?

Yes, in fact may be safer than parts of Old Louisville.

Yeah, that's a nice, safe area and almost perfect for a young guy. Lots of stuff to do in almost every direction.

Well checked out the area. While it is not the prettiest part of Louisville it's decent enough. However the place was not going to work. Still needs a lot of work and just too small.

Alanboy395, just out of curiosity, which neighborhoods and parts of Louisville have you checked out so far? (At least for housing purposes.) I know you've mentioned Old Lou. quite a bit.

In order of interest:

Old Louisville
Beechmont (extremely close to my job)
Crescent Hill/Clifton
Jefferson Mall area
Bashford Manor
Hikes Point

Checking out a place in the Highlands that may be just too good of a deal to pass up. If that doesn't work out, Old Louisville is the strongest contender.

I'd strike the Jefferson Mall area, but that may just be the east end snob in me. I like the Cresent Hill area out of that list.
