Okay, I have to ask. I just saw an episode of Man vs. Food Nation on the Food Network, that features Louisville. Someone on there said that the best place to get a good Hot Brown is at the Brown Hotel.

So let's hear it from all the Louisville food experts: who makes the best Hot Brown in the area?

I still haven't had one yet and I work on the same block as the Brown.

I make a pretty mean one, if I do say so myself.

To me, a Hot Brown of all dishes requires the most excellent of ingredients. Even to how thin the turkey is sliced, how crisp the bacon is fried, and the quality and style of bread used for toast. Of course the cheeze sause simply finishes the dish. There are only a few months when local vine ripened tomatoes are available too.

I know this doesn't say who makes the best, but is simply a compliment to the chef who makes the best.

It was invented at the Brown and it's their signature dish, so I'm going with the Brown! I've had them all over, and their's really is the best.
