Hi,

I live in Old Louisville, and had to go grocery shopping today. But, for some reason, cops blocked every intersection on 4th or 5th street. It was like they were dividing the city in two or something. It took me like two hours to get to my house from walmart. Do you guys know what that was all about?

It was the Ironman. I had the same problem coming home from work tonight at 6:00. I live on 4th near Central Park and even though I made it to only 2 streets over from my place after getting off I-65, I had to end up driving all the way up 2nd into downtown, getting back on 65 to 64W and then coming south down 9th St. What a pain.

Yep, it was the Ironman. Happens every single year around this time. Always closes the same streets.

Yep, Ironman. I was visiting family in Oldham and got held up by the biker traffic on KY 146. Gotta love how they pick one of the busiest highways in OC for a bicycle route. Great planning...NOT

Hehehe I forgot about this. I remember the frustration I had at Ironman while I lived in Old Louisville during '08, '09 and '10. That's probably one of the FEW good things about leaving that neighborhood, that where I live now the streets aren't closed (or completely packed) for events like Ironman, St. James Art Fair, Thunder over Louisville, etc.
