I'm going to be travelling to Louisville at the end of the month for a conference, and could use some hotel advice. My conference is being held downtown, but I was unable to find an available room at any of the downtown hotels. What would be my next best option? Across the river in Indiana? I'm not sure which areas are good/safe and convenient.I'm looking for something mid-range and a quick drive to downtown. Thanks in advance for your help!

There are some nice hotels on the Indiana side of the river but one of the bridges is presently out of service so commuting across the river is a major pain. There are quite a few hotels on the east side of town along I-64 on Hurstbourne Parkway and Blankenbaker Parkway there are only about 20 minutes from downtown and probably a better choice.

Are you sure? Rarely are all the dt hotels booked. Where did you try? Conde naste traveler rated the 21c number one hotel in the world. The value and ambiance for the price cannot be beat!

There are numerous of hotels downtown like the Galt House & Marriott which are the top hotels besides 21C which is the top of the top to stay. Maybe that one would be booked, but the others should have a vacancy.

Default Which day in Nov.?

Definitely do NOT pick a hotel on the Indiana side of the river! The traffic on the bridges is not predictable and not something you want to deal with, even on a "good" day.

Which day exactly do you need a hotel room, and for how long? I can find out what's available from one of the best downtown Louisville hotels.
