Hey y'all!

My husband and I are moving to Louisville, KY and I reserved an apartment at River Hill because it is within walking distance to my job at the VA Hospital.

I would like to know what you all think about the Crescent Hill neighborhood and if there are any cool things to do that you'd like to share. We really love our two dogs, so are there dog-friendly places around?

Thanks!

River Hill and VA isn't too far from Cox's Park which is east on Zone. They have nice picnic areas and a walking track. Down the road going west on Zone, there is a dog park which you need to pay in order to use.

As within all communities of a city, Crescent Hill has many features. If I were to move back to Louisville, Crescent Hill would certainly get top billing.

louisville dog run association has one of it's four local dog parks at zorn and river road, just about walking distance from you. you do need to join, but it's cheap. check out ldra.org. i love crescent hill. frankfort ave has a great many dining options from casual to fine. varanese, irish rover, el mundo, porcini's. really too many to name. all in all one of the better nabes in town. you chose wisely.

Technically speaking, River Hill is in the Clifton Heights neighborhood, not Crescent Hill. Clifton Heights is the area bounded by Zorn, Mellwood, and Brownsboro; Crescent Hill is south of Brownsboro Rd.

But in any case, it's still a nice place, and Crescent Hill is fantastic. We've rented there for four years now, and plan to stay when we're able to buy a home some day.

Cherokee park isn't within walking distance, but it's nearby and has a dog run.

Aren't they moving the VA hospital out by I-265 on the east end? If that is still the case and the above highlighted portion is one of the main reasons you are picking the apartment, will your job be staying at the old VA?

Considering how long the government takes to do anything, I anticipate being at that hospital for at least a year's lease!

Well, yes I suppose it will still be there at least a year, haha. I must not have been thinking things through very clearly. Sorry
