I have just been awaken by trash collectors for the 4th night in a row at around 3 or 4 am in St Matthews. This is driving me crazy I know they have to collect the trash but it used to not be every night at this time. It is impossible to sleep with all that noise going on every night. Now my block is not exactly fully residential (Dupont @ Dutchmans Ln) but there are residential renters here who need a full night of sleep to function.

What can I do about this?

Moving may be your only option.

Maybe so. I did send an inquiry to Louisville Metro trash collection to say I did something. I'm actively trying to move back East and will split as soon as I get an offer.

Actually the trash collection is handled by the city of saint matthew's, not metro!

Actually I did contact the city of St Matthews and the collection at those hours violated a ordinance made by the city of St Matthews (just lucky I'm inside St. Matthews by a hair.) The guy I worked with contacted the waste management and had them reroute to prevent violating the ordinance.

Not a bad day to have a wee bit of trash collection noise as the only concern.

You don't need to move that would be ridiculous, wear ear plugs, a lot cheaper and be thankful your trash is being removed.
