Well folks,

I have accepted a job offer in Virginia. That means I will no longer be residing in Louisville as of July 1st. I have had good times and bad times here. My favorite memory is a tie between partying it up with my friend during Derby weekend and watching the Final Four between Louisville and Kentucky at 4th St Live.

My time in Kentucky was stained by struggling to find solid employment. Also I hated the wild weather here.

Overall, my time in the Bluegrass state was a positive experience. But I know Virginia has better opportunities for me as a new grad.

Peace, Louisville!

I am having trouble finding stable employment here in CA, too. Unless I can find a stabilizing force, I may have to regroup.

Best of luck to you back in NoVA! And remember, if you want to come back to KY, it will always be there; I know you've liked your overall experience.

Good luck! I'm not sure the weather will be any better for you, as I found it largely the same as Louisville's. Though they have had a lot more snow in recent years.

Best wishes.

I'm definitely no defender of the DC area, but the past 2 winters we had very little snow. In fact, this past winter we didn't have a single storm that produced enough snow to stick for more than a few hours.

However, Winter 2009 was the infamous snowmaggedon

Good luck! Louisville is the kind of place you appreciate much more from afar. I love DC though! The easyness of access and the friendliness of the people....Louisville is a city where you really can utilize every corner of the metro area.

Yeah, I grew up in Hampton, VA and understand the hurricane thing.

My weather thing was more about my first winter here in 2010. There was literally like 5 days TOtAL of ANY sunshine between Nov-March and it snowed literally every week with a couple of ice days. Winter 2011 was a little better.
