Hello All,

I am planning to visit Kentucky the coming weekend to check out some of the well know place likes Mammoth Caves, Slugger Museum, etc. I would like some help and suggestion to visit different place (can be Museum, Distillery, Outdoor activity like Kayaking, Rafting, Country side of a city, etc) which Kentuckians are really proud off.

I have few places in mind as of now:
1. Mammoth Caves
2. Slugger Museum
3. Cumberland River Park
4. Corvette museum

I will be reaching Kentucky on Friday and have two days to cover up everything.

Thanks for your time and feedback!

Bourbon, Horses & History - Birthplace Abraham Lincoln - Location of the Kentucky Derby - North Central KY
Regions of Kentucky - Kentucky Lakes - The Bluegrass Region in KY

Several years ago we took my sons and my wife's granddaughter on a trip to Louisville. This was when Kentucky Kingdom was still open. We didn't see much of Louisville, but took the "I-65 tour" from Louisville to Bowling Green. Before leaving Louisville, drive west on 31W to drive by the Gold Depository at Ft. Knox. On our way to Bardstown, (we took Clermont Rd., which takes you by Bernheim Forest and Jim Beam) we stopped by the Jim Beam Distillery. Didn't take the tour, but the kids and I enjoyed the lemonade, while my wife enjoyed a sample of Jim Beam. There are several other stops to make but you're wanting just a weekend trip. Our next stops down the road were Abraham Lincoln's Birthplace in Hodgenville and Lincoln's Boyhood Home in Knob Creek. Both of these are in Larue County, which is on the east side of I-65. Then you get in the Mammoth Cave area. There's a lot to see around Cave City. We just spent a couple days around Mammoth Cave, but didn't go on any tours in the cave.
When you get to Bowling Green there's the Corvette Museum. If you want to travel about 50 miles west of Bowling Green on U.S. 68, you can go to the Jefferson Davis Monument and Birthplace in Fairview, Ky. it's about 200 ft. shorter than the Washington Monument. I remember going up in it with school groups many moons ago. But no matter where you go, have fun in Kentucky!
