Or is it just random/scattered? Some cities have a "strip" or an area of the city almost devoted solely to this. I'm wondering if Louisville does by chance. I'm gonna be there for the first time to see a band play at Headliners, was thinking if that doesn't end too late it'd be nice to know where to head to.

The interchage of Bardstown Rd and Baxter Ave is a nice strip of bars.

4th St Live is a touristy collection of national feeling clubs and bars. Probably better for dancing on a late Saturday night.

Headliners is in kind of a "dead zone" so don't let that area let you think there isn't tons to do in Louisville at night.

The third bar strip is located in St Matthews, centered around a place called Drake's. This area is more an upscale yuppie/kind of crowd.

A fourth strip is developing near a bar called Garage Bar, although these are more restaurants with a few cocktail bars.

There are also some nice hipster bars and lounges scattered about.

If you are more into chill lounges and craft cocktails, try Proof or Meat.

If you are a true hipster try Nachbar or Zanzabar, off th ebeaten path in Germantown.

If that's what you go looking for, then that applies to most any bar in town.

o.k. i'll bite. what bars along the 7th street corridor do you frequent? I was assuming your suggestion was a joke, but maybe i'm mis-informed.

None and haven't in over 25 years. Got that out of my system long ago.

The OP was asking about night life without being specific about what he was looking for. STX came along with a long list of areas with active night life. I saw he left one area out so I pointed to another part of Louisville's nightlife.

I figure the OP is an adult and able to make his own choices. Just giving him an alternative. Without judging anyone.
