I have heard good things about Louisville and was looking at it on the map and realized how close it is to other major cities. Is it pretty easy to get to Cinci, Indy, Nashville and Lexy. If you were ever bored in your own city you can hit these places on weekends. Let me know your thoughts.

Super easy. Furthermore, the airport is small and very user friendly, with great direct flights to almost any major city in the US with the exception of some west coast cities. It is also very cheap. Take a 50 minute flight to Atlanta or Chicago for the weekend for your big city fix for under 150.

Also, Louisville is within a short 2 hour drive of three other great midsized cities: Cincinnati, Nashville, and Indianapolis. Lexington is great for a college town.

That said, there is plenty to do in Louisville to keep you occupied, and that is the great thing about the city. The city has an OUTSTANDING dining and arts scene, vibrant and walkable urban areas, great neighborhoods, and a wide array of nightlife from a 24 hour hookah bar, dance clubs, irish pubs, to gay and lesbian megaclubs. There is great antiquing and some nice unique boutique shopping, as well as indie record shops, coffee houses, and more. Many people enjoy UofL games, museums, Six Flags, one of the great golf courses like Valhalla, home of the 2008 Ryder Cup, and hiking on the nearby hills and river trails. The park system is really nice too, and the city has one of the largest park expansions underway in the country.

Louisville sits in a pretty fantastic place geographically. There is the recreation afforded not only by the Ohio River, but several regional flood control lakes that provide excellent boating, fishing, and other water related activities. As far as large city sports, its two hours by interstate to Indy, 90 min to Cincy, less than 3hrs to Nashville, & about 3.5hrs to St. Louis. Louisville by itself, has some pretty remarkable sporting and arts venues such as U of L, the Louisville Fire Indoor Football, and the Louisville Bats
