just because it's old news doesn't mean it's good news.

Then you know what they say, " Wait an hour, it will change."

Hey, Veggienut, further to your post, yesterday, there were hundreds, maybe thousands, of fat ROBINS in my front and back yards and up and down my street. They were in the trees and on the grass for hours and then disappeared. How odd.

it's right about this time of year, every year, that I long to see just a glint of sunshine. depressing.

We've been getting flocks of robins passing through central Ky as well. They seem to be (belatedly) migrating southward from Michigan or other points north. Perhaps something alerted them to the approach of this past weekend's frigid temps and snowfall.

On the other hand, I have not seen many junkoes (sp??) this winter - normally, they are everywhere and are particularly noticeable when there's snow on the ground. I need to sprinkle sunflower seeds in the yard again this morning, and see who comes calling (mostly squirrels plus a few cardinals yesterday).

Before this latest snowfall, which totalled around three inches over the weekend, I had a few early purple crocuses, Lenten roses, and honeysuckle hedge in bloom in my yard, along with snowdrops in bud...they'll probably reappear by week's end, when we should be back in the mid-fifties rather than the mid-teens.
