Here is hopefully a easy question for all of you. Currently with Sprint over here on the west coast and overall happy with them, but have been considering the switch to Verizon. Do any of you have any comments regarding who gets the better reception in the Louisville area? Or through-out Kentucky? Let me know. Thanks.

Kev.

Poorest quality area coverage... no doubt its Sprint/Nextel or as I say from experience no-tel. I have AT&T/Cingular with Aircard and while not as fast when a Sprint tower is reachable, I get reception throughout most of the Kentucky area's I travel which is common from my home in Crestwood to Glasgow, Owensboro, and along I-71. Quite freakishly, the worst AT&T reception that I have is actually at my home in the Briar Hill area of Crestwood.

I've had both Sprint and verizon, I say sprint has better service in this area.

Agree. Sprint is best in the Louisville metro. There is no reception problem in the city or its suburbs though. Sometimes there is a problem on I-71 around Carrolton.

Don't try to use no-tel (Sprint/Nextel) between Waddy & I-75 interchange with any confidence that you won't be dropped. Last time I tried to use no-tel, while talking to a no-tel representative regarding the poor service, we got dropped 11 times over a 20 or so mile distance.

I stand behind my previous reply. Sprint/Nextel is terrible outside of major areas where it is superior.

I'll agree, that area of hills getting towards the Ky Speedway on I-71 drops alot of my Sprint calls. The service in the city is spectacular and in suburbs, including La Grange.

but not along US 42 which runs east-west across northern Oldham County only 4 miles north of LaGrange. Here's the choice I had to make. Do I want speed or reliability? That is why I had to cancel service with Sprint/Nextel. I chose reliable service over spotty speed. I would have a hard time choosing between Verison and AT&T/Cingular.

I would have to suggest Verizon. Just recently AT&T had bought Cingular and all my co workers whom rely heavily on cell phones would get dropped services all the time. Verizon has my vote. never really had an issure with their svc. Plus supposedly their equipment and infastructure is very sophisticated compared to the other companies

We have sprint & are looking forward to getting out of our contract in 8 months. We have the fusic lg phone & constantly lose service, dropped calls, etc. It cuts out around the airport on various days & into Bullitt county along 65 South. Were going to switch next year. Good luck.
