Can you please suggest some good apartments near the U or Louisville campus? I have spent some time looking at older threads but didn't get much useful information.

I am looking for an apartment that has a washer/dryer, safe parking, and is close to campus. The $700 to 850 range seems reasonable.

Thank you.

If you are talking about the medical campus, these condos are right on campus and look great:

Floor Plans | The EDGE

If you are going to be a resident or in medical school at UofL, you can contact that number and they have another building nearby that is brand new with strictly rentals for medical students.

Look, one is for rent:

New 2 br in NULU and near medical district

This is very affordable and upscale if you get a roommate.

Discounted!!! Downtown Lofts of Broadway Apt - FREE Cable and Internet

Is another option, which are some old warehouse lofts 2 blocks south of campus. This is on the southside of broadway, in an area that was formerly known as the start of a decaying area called smoketown. Well, things have changed as the housing projects behind these lofts are now gone and they are building nicer, market rate housing.

I would start with those two and search craigslist for more.

Remember, the most urban, walkable, and "lively" areas of Louisville are centered around the following intersections:

4th and Liberty

2nd and Main

7th and Main

East Market at Clay Street

south 4th St at Cardinal Boulevard

Frankfort Avenue at Bayly Avenue

Baxter Avenue at Highland Avenue

Bardstown Rd at Bonnycastle

and Shelbyville Rd at Chenoweth Ln.

Craigslist and look for a roommate. Plenty of students in the area looking for roommates!

Actually the Med Campus isn't super close to Old Louisville neighborhood. Your best bet would be anything along Baxter Ave, which is only a mile to the east.
